The entire world's watching to see what happens next.
While the cost of human life happening now is troubling, I'm much more fearful then I am saddened. Fearful of a long and powerful stream of injustice waiting to decide which side it's on, and branch out of Iraq to "help" the situation.Allen Striderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03439520193180993410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31061063.post-1156089176036637592006-08-20T18:52:00.000+03:002006-08-20T18:52:00.000+03:00Hmm the Israelis are terrorists. There's no unbiased reason why anyone should support the Israelis; the enemy of my enemy doesn't always have to be my friend. In fact, in some cases, they're enemies against humanity, as is evidenced by recent events.Manimalahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07376726150989786970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31061063.post-1156034812218769982006-08-20T03:46:00.000+03:002006-08-20T03:46:00.000+03:00A profound and deeply touching and informative art...A profound and deeply touching and informative article. We have been following the Israeli-Lebanon confrontation here in the UK very closely.

Here in the UK we, the public are disgusted, horrified and enraged at the destructive decisions of our leaders. As for the 'Cease Fire'
It has already been broken by the Israelis who have attacked and killed some Hezbollah members in Lebanon. Your atrticle deals with the grass roots of what is happening to Lebanon. I agree with Pepe and feel so powerless in the face of such injustice in the 21st century.

I am an artist. You can look at my work on www.artwanted.com/margarita. Check out the painting in the events section called 'Children of the world unite'. It's relevant to this situation. Take care. Will be looking out for your next post.

Regards from Rusty Woodward-Gladdish. As a psychologist, [undergraduate anyway] I can understand the "nothingness" that you feel. Though I must agree with Riba's comments that, well, emotional exhaustion is definately a possibility. Mouring is not an automatic process in itself - it required a conscious desicison, which takes energy. People need to establish some sort of routine within thier lives, or at least take part in activities that reinforce a sense of CONTROL over thier lives. Please continue posting ~ I am gradually becoming tempted to join you over there! [I wish to do my PhD in the psychology of terrorism]. We need to recover, we need to sleep, we need to release the nerve racking post traumatic stress....we need to disconnect before we assess the new reality. There will be time to do all the other things. We are not even sure the war is over yet, we are holding our breath. this has happened so many times..dont worry we will rally to mourn and all the other stuff, in time. I have been wondering how the Lebanese people have been coping with it all especially now that the "fighting" is over ! Your comment "This is the Lebanese! Yesterday we have war, today is for the cleaning and tomorrow good as new" threw me. How, when the government itself is weak and have no concrete plans to stand on for a start ?!!!!!!
I felt the same anger and rage you felt. And I wept, yes I did, at the injustice of it all, for the little children who became orphans, for the children that died, for the children that suffered severe injuries or lost limbs. Most of all I wept for the new generation that they will become, a generation accustomed to life's cruelty and numb to pain like robots only filled with emotions such as cynism and anger lacking compassion !pepehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16091314806119163947noreply@blogger.com
